MARIA GIUDICE: The secret to controlling cost, is first of all, never spend more money than you have. That, I think has made Hot a very successful company. Every year that Hot has been in business it’s been in the black. And, it’s because I’ve never taken out a loan, I haven’t gone into debt, and so it’s really critical to just not spend money that you don’t have. Even when the company is doing well, I kind of feel like I’m a child of the Depression, even though I’m way too young to be from the Depression, I kind of think that way. It’s like I don’t get excited, when, I do— I’m happy when the company is doing well, but I also know that there’s going to be bad times with good times, so you have to plan for the bad times and have enough money in the bank to cover yourself for bad times. And it’s just an up and down kind of environment. So I think that we’re very smart when we spend money wisely.
