-- Networking with your peers? Don't do it unless your peers are people that are running on the track at least as fast as you are.

-- I have been involved in a professional organization for the past 10 years called EO (entrepreneurship organization). The one thing I gain from this group is "energy" and unlike most professional groups there is a strict non-solicitation policy. What? Get involved with a group that I can't sell directly to? Answer- yes! There is much more to your business than just making sales. You need knowledge, contacts, experience, advice and that all elusive item - energy to keep up the pace that a business owner must keep. I would tell you that even though I cannot solicit directly to my group the energy I get from them combined with all of the about adds no less than $1M in revenue to my business annually.

Hi Andy thanks for your impressions of EO. I am a member of the Sydney Chapter and I know that without my forum and the learning event I know my business would not be where it is. Since joining EO my business http://www.redballoondays.com.au/ has become the number one website in Australia for gifts according to Hitwise.
