Reading, Pa., Residents Challenge Mandatory Sewer Hookups, Fees.

Apr. 5--A group of Ontelaunee Township residents has turned to Berks County Court for help in a battle over a proposed sewage-collection system.

The residents are seeking an injunction barring the township from forcing mandatory hookups and assessing sewer fees.

Ontelaunee is planning to install sewers, which would tie into treatment systems in Maidencreek Township and Leesport, within two years and compel many households to connect.
