In a continuing theme of clandestine communication, today's post features SlyDial, a new phone service that offers callers the opportunity to go straight to voicemail.

Unlike the covert nature of their service, SlyDial overtly sells itself as a way to avoid those conversations you don't want to have. While this idea may seem, at first look, a bit underhanded or downright mean, it can be a useful tool and allow you to relay messages without the lengthy back-and-forth. Maybe you know someone is busy and do not want to disturb them with a ringing phone. Perhaps you are just running short on time. Think of it as a text message, spoken.

Sign up for the service and dial 267-SLYDIAL to leave voicemail for a pre-saved contact or other phone number without a ringing phone.

SlyDial is free to use with ads, or ad-free by paying $0.15/message or less with unlimited plans.
