Thai Electricity Authority to Use Some IPO Cash to Cut Foreign Debts.

Oct. 10--The Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) expects its foreign debt to decline to 30 percent of its total debts from 40 percent after its planned partial privatisation is completed in the middle of next year.

Sirichai Sayasilpi, the MEA deputy governor, said funds raised from its initial public offering scheduled for next June would be used to facilitate the authority's investment projects and refinancing.
